| Alison qualified with a BSc(Ost) from the College of Osteopaths in 2001 and has since worked in a variety of osteopathic practices and gyms, before establishing her own osteopathic practice in Kensal Rise, West London. In addition to private practice, Alison teaches osteopathic technique to first and third year undergraduate students at the British School of Osteopathy.
Alison treats patients of all ages for a wide variety of conditions. Her particular interests are in treating stress and posture related pain, and, often related to this, neck and shoulder pain. Alison uses a variety of osteopathic techniques, from deep soft tissue massage, trigger point treatment, to joint articulation (rhythmic movement and stretching) and high velocity thrust techniques. During her osteopathic training, Alison trained and worked as a therapeutic and sports massage therapist. The result of her massage background is a firm belief in the benefit of well targeted deep tissue massage in the rehabilitation of patients in acute and chronic pain; deep tissue massage forms the mainstay of Alison’s treatments. Similarly, having always been sporting and interested in fitness, Alison is acutely aware of the importance of stretching and strengthening exercises in the speedy and lasting recovery from joint and muscle dysfunction.
The practice is well served by public transport, and within easy reach of those seeking an osteopath in Queens Park, Notting Hill, Willesden, and Kilburn. For further details on how to find the practice, click on here
